How to prepare a gang sheet file for DTF

A gang sheet is one file that groups all your designs side by side, so they print together on one roll of film. We print exactly what you send, with no edits and no back-and-forth. That keeps your orders fast and cheap, but it means the file has to be right. Here is how to set it up.

The specs at a glance

1. Set the canvas to 56 cm wide

Create a document 56 cm wide and as long as you need. At 300 DPI, that is 6614 pixels wide. Length is up to you: you pay by the meter, so a tight layout saves money.

2. Work in RGB at 300 DPI

Keep the file in RGB, not CMYK. Place every design at its real print size and check that it is still 300 DPI at that size. A 10 cm logo needs about 1181 pixels across. A low-resolution image enlarged in the layout will print blurry, even if the sheet itself is set to 300 DPI.

3. Keep the background transparent

Everything that is not transparent gets printed. Delete white or colored backgrounds, and export as PNG with transparency, or as PDF, SVG, AI or EPS with no background layer. Avoid JPG for these designs: it has no transparency, so its background gets printed.

4. Check thin lines and small text

Lines, gaps and small text must be at least 0.3 mm. Below that, the white underbase may not fully cover them and they may not stick to the fabric. Thicken fine strokes and open up very tight gaps.

5. Avoid soft transparency

Every transfer gets an opaque white underbase. Soft shadows, glows and faded edges are hard to reproduce on top of it and can look uneven. Replace them with solid shapes or a halftone where you can.

6. Space your designs

Leave 5 to 20 mm between designs, so you can cut them apart cleanly. Rotate designs to fill gaps: the tighter the layout, the more prints per meter.

7. Final check before upload

• 56 cm wide, length as needed
• RGB, 300 DPI at print size
• Transparent background
• No lines or gaps under 0.3 mm
• 5 to 20 mm between designs
